Believe it or not, this is a second Redtail juvenile

This one came into the office just a few minutes ago.  We checked it over, and decided to try to release it.  Joe took it outside, gave it a toss into the air, and off it soared.   It had been found along the side of a road, so probably just got the wind knocked out of it hitting a car.
Wonder what injured animal #3 will be - don't things come in threes?

    Please be careful out there! There seem to be a lot of juvenile birds who are not good at avoiding collisions with vehicles. We got another bird in this week - a Coopers Hawk - but unfortunately it had to be put down because the wing was too badly damaged. The Cooper seemed so small compared to the Redtails we've seen this fall. It was a very attractive bird, but looked tall and gangly. It had a long narrow tail with light colored bars across the feathers. I've learned to tell the difference between the Cooper and the Sharp-shinned, so that is a good thing.
