Catalpa Tree

There are dozens of these trees that line T Ridge on the way into Caldwell. They are just starting to bloom now. The roadway is strewn with sweet smelling blossoms.
That is Belle Valley in the distance.

um...WOW. My catalpa is just starting to open its LEAF BUDS! That's how late they open up here. Usually its June, but with our nasty high temps lately, its 2 weeks early for sure. And my hasn't bloomed yet!

One of my favorites. The catalpa that Andrew got me is too young to bloom. I was hoping that this would be the year but alas nothing.

I love catalpa trees. There is one in a friend of mine's yard in town and it is a magnificent tree. Some of my favorite childhood memories were climbing a catalpa tree at my aunt Dorothy's house.
