Somerhill Arlo x Rose Arbor Bre kits are 16 days old and heavy as bricks.  

See that slender piece of straw in the foreground of the pic?  I only got one chance at a photo because when I reached in to gently remove it from the pic, all h*ll broke loose.  Bunny screamed, and then all of them leaped in all directions, including out the open cage door.  Thankfully, I am prepared for such nonsense, and caught the little darling as it flew toward my head.    WHEW

New Year's Eve litters

 2023 ended with a BANG!  Peacock LR2 had 6 new Frosties when I checked her at midnight, and Halcyon (REW Satin Angora) had 11!  I am so glad I went out and checked her, because the nest was soaking wet, and 5 of the kits were DOA.  I had to completely replace the nesting materials and get them settled back into a warm, dry nest.  I am very pleased with 6 live babies from her.   

These are the 2 New Year's eve litters. The Satin Angoras will all be REW - GrCH Somerhill Knights in White Satin x Somerhill Halcyon.   The Frosties are from Somerhill Arlo and Peacock LR2

 At 11 days old, their true colors are shining through.  Eyes are just beginning to open, and their ears pop up when I speak to them.

 Somerhill Knight Sky had 4 freshly born kits tonight when I fed.  Looks like 3 chocolate agoutis and a REW.   The sire is GrCH Somerhill Bergamot, a chocolate tort buck.

Somerhill Carly is my keeper from this litter.  She has good balance of shoulder to hip,
is wide and smooth, and I like her dense, silky textured fur.  

 

Fun yarn FS

232 yards of corriedale plyed with BFL.  There 
is about 30 yards of plain black at the beginning, then the 
remainder is the bicolor.  It is actually prettier in person
with the contrast of the bright colors against the black
more pronounced.  The Corriedale gives it loft while 
the BFL gives it that silky softness.

WOW!

 Look what Rose Arbor Bre surprised me with this AM!  She normally has small litters, but there are SIX in the nest, sired by GrCH Rose Arbor Mark.

2 months today

 Peacock LR2 kits from Somerhill Arlo are 2 months old today.  Looks like 2 bucks, 2 does, and 3 that have not yet decided on how they identify.  This little guy has caught my eye since they came out of the nestbox. 

Tour de Fleece on steroids!

This is the result of 2 full months of a dedication to spinning at least a bit every day.  I made it!   Most days, it was 30-45 minutes, with a few days of an hour or a bit more.  I think I will continue this into September and see if I can stay focused.   

Starting to get really cute.

 Peacock LR2 had 7 of these little munchkins on 7-30.  They are just getting so I can touch them and they will come up to me at the cage door now.  No way can I get a photo with all 7 in it - they are too zoomie.
