Look for Somerhill at this upcoming fiber event in historic downtown Newark, Ohio on June 11th.  I will have angora yarns, BFL yarn, locks, and luxury rovings.  

The last of my yarns

I just had 7 skeins left here at home that were not destroyed in the market fire.  I was able to reproduce the light blue and celery green skeins, and then exhausted the dyepot, making a rich teal blue.  I'll have these with me at the Great Lakes Fiber Show in Wooster this weekend.

Jerry and Alice

Two of my favorite "neighbors" at the farmers market.  Jerry is beside me, and sells furniture made from barn siding, and Alice is across the aisle, and sells hand quilted items.

Across the aisle from me at the farmers market is a blacksmith.  This is his display of a collapsible outdoor grill he makes.  Today, we played a practical joke on Dan.

Mint Pesto for Lamb Chops

1/2 c mint leaves
1/2 c fresh parsley
juice of 1 lemon
1/3 c olive oil
1/2 tsp salt

No farmers market this week - the Washington County fair runs through the weekend, taking our space. 
When we move back into the building, I plan to sample lamb chops with this pesto on the side.

My first feed bag tote

Sweet corn season has arrived!

Fagans brought in the first of the corn a couple weeks ago, but now several vendors have beautiful, fresh ears available.  I bought some bi-color this week, and even saw some white corn offered.  It is oh-so-sweet and delicious! 

Jerry's Booth at the Farmer's Market

Jerry makes furniture and decorator items from barnwood siding. I bought a birdhouse from him to use as the best in show award at a recent angora rabbit specialty.  I'd like to get a bench for the front porch, too.   He is a good "neighbor" and fun to talk to.

She sells them at the market, along with other handmade quilted items like placemats, table runners, etc.  Plus her handmade baskets.   She worked as an artist for Fenton Art Glass for many years, and her talent really shines!

This is Gary, the market president.  He and his wife have a large greenhouse, and raise bedding plants, herbs, and vegetables.

Pink BFL Locks

I'm starting to do some new dye lots.  This is hot pink, vermillion, and russet. 
I'll have it at Wooster at the fiber festival on May 28 & 29th.   It sells for $3 per ounce.

The Sweet Shop - my neighbor at the market

Lisa is an artist with a cupcake! Beautiful colors and designs, creative flavors - my favorite is Lemon,lemon,lemon. The pink ones are new - Pink Champagne. Her booth is always mobbed, and she sells out every week before closing time.
