I must have stupid ewes
My flock has been selected for ease of lambing, mothering ability, and udder conformation for several generations now. I decided to go for those traits before concentrating on type.
Not sayin' they are perfect, but I've tried to make them productive, easy care sheep.
I went out about 7am. to feed, Serenade had dropped. I knew it wouldn't be long because I could see that she had colostrum too. About 2 hours later I went out to check and she wasn't in her usual place, at the hay feeder but everyone else was(goats,sheep). I looked in the barn and lo and behold she was licking off the ewe and the ram was already up and moving around. I just can't understand why the birth of my children didn't go as fast! That was easy. I think one of my yearlings will go today. I'll keep you posted.
