Some novelty yarns

I spun up some chinchilla angora seconds, and spun them up in a thick n thin single.  Then I strung teal, purple and gold beads on a metallic thread, and plied them together.  I really like the effect, and the yarn is very soft.  There are 118 yards of this.
I had some baggies of small amounts of colors hanging around, and had an idea yesterday. This skein is made from 4 colors; chestnut, baby pearl, black, and some dyed brown. I took a small handful of one color and spun it, then a handful of the next color, and repeated until I ran out, making sure not to end with the same color I started with. Then I plied it back on itself, and here is the result. There are 63 yards.

Somerhill Del Rey

Del is my main sire for my pearl line.  He came out of my chinchillas, so his sire is GrCH Somerhill Little Big Horn (chin) and Somerhill Camlifornia (copper).  He has a very masculine head, a solid body, and the sweetest temperament.  He is definitely a ladies man, and very charming.

Welcome, 7Pines Handsome

Say hello to my new chocolate tort buck. He was delivered Thursday. This is a well traveled guy. Originating in MN, he went to California to the 2016 ARBA convention, where he won his class. Then to the Carolinas, back to Indy to the 2017 convention, where he was again 1st CSB. On his way here, he traveled through VA, MD, PA, NJ, CT, MA, ME, NY, MI, IN, and then into Ohio. He seems none the worse for wear, and is happy to explore and punch me with his head if I don't pet him. This 5+ inch coat come off this weekend, and then he has a date with a couple lovelies here at Somerhill.
